Grande Cache, Alberta Attractions

The Canadian Death Race, a true test of physical and mental endurance is an ultra marathon held in Grande Cache Alberta.  Annually elite athletes from across the world participate in this 125 km race that must be completed in 24 hours.  The route takes competitors through a tortous course that includes bogs, forests, three mountain summits, rivers, and crosses several mountain crests with a total elevation gain of 17, 000 feet.  

Just a short 2 hour drive from the Best Western Grande Cache is Jasper National Park.  The park, established in 1907 is the largest national park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains.  Covering its 10, 878 square kilometres are glaciers, lakes, waterfalls, hot springs and mountain wilderness.  Some of the rarest animals in North America can be found within Jasper National Park.
